Golden Eagle Breakfast with Bill Curry - Feb 19th

On February 19, 2010,the annual Golden Eagle Breakfast will be held at the Golf Club of Georgia off of Windward Parkway at 7:30 am. The purpose of this event is to invite community and business leaders in the Alpharetta, Roswell, Milton and John's Creek areas to learn more about Scouting efforts in our community and seek their support. Our guests will attend a breakfast and presentation from Bill Curry, the famous college football coach, ESPN analyst and NFL player, as well as hear from a local Eagle Scout on how Scouting has impacted his life. It's a great event and a way to communicate the benefits of Scouting to those that aren't directly involved through a pack, troop or crew.

Welcome to 2010, the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America

There will be many special events in 2010 celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Scouting.

Join the celebration, February 8, 2010, as we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey and begin our next century of Scouting!

Join us as we celebrate our 100th Anniversary throughout the year with a purpose. Scouts, volunteers and the community will have the opportunity to participate in the celebration with events like: Scouting for Food, Centennial Encampment, Adventure Base 100, ScoutFest 2010, and 100 Year Anniversary Gala!

Join units throughout the Milton District in celebrating the 100th Anniversary.

Here are ways to get your unit involved in the upcoming Celebration the week of February 8th.

(1) Wear Your Uniform Day - February 8th
Encourage all your Scouts and Unit Leaders to wear their Scout uniform to school and work on Monday February 8th, the official 100th Birthday of Scouting in the US!

(2) Citywide Marquees Announcing the 100th Anniversary - Week of February 8th
Contact your charter organization, the schools where your unit meets, churches and community businesses now. Ask them to post a message on their sign boards the week of February 8th saying "Happy 100th Birthday - Boy Scouts of America".

(3) Centennial Tree Plantings
Throughout the metro Atlanta Area, Scouts will be planting 100 Oak Trees to commerate the Centennial. Scouts in the Milton District will be planting trees in 3-4 prominent locations within our District. We need Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Crew members to join in this effort and help plant the trees on the weekend of Feb. 6th-7th. Permissions are being secured now with the cities & sites in the Milton District.
